Every now and again I like to hone my creative skills. Getting to travel the world certainly expands my creative expression as I am inspired by many cultures and their artwork. While in Thailand a couple of years ago I happened upon a website and pod cast about art licensing, it immediately peaked my interest that since then I've spent time researching all I can get my hands on about the subject.

If you're not sure what art licensing is - basically, it's the art work on the stuff you buy, and there is a huge market for it. One I want to get involved in!

I've come to a place where all my research has just propelled me to want more. So when I heard about Art Licensing Agent Lilla Rogers course MATS: Making Art that Sells, I knew I had to make the transition into licensing my work, so invested my resorces.

Today I begin 5 weeks of hands on intensive study with Lilla and about 100 other participants. I've 10 weeks of study split into 2 units ahead of me, one starting now over April and May and the rest of the classes in October and November. I'm unbelievably excited to see my illustration and business grow as I learn about Bolt Fabric | Home Decor | Children’s Books | Wall Art | Gift's over the next 5 weeks.

I plan to share my process through my instagram page if you're inclined to follow along and I'll be sure to give an update on my blog also.

If you're wanting to learn more about Lilla's school check it out: www.lillarogers.com/school

My month will be full but I'm prepared - place to stay - check. Art supplies - check.

Bring it!

The above video - my very first - was created in August 2013 when I was in Florida, USA. I was processing the beginning of my art licensing process through Tara Reed's art licensing site. Although I'm such a newbie I felt it was important to document the process as usually I see those who have 'made it', so I thought I'd share my start. It motivated me, even though and I spent all day figuring out how to create a video! But it was something to keep me accountable... and busy.

Join me in the continuing progression.
